¶ 01 — Mission

Taking back what was never meant to be lost.

Canada was built by homesteaders — people who carved a life out of raw land through grit, sweat, and determination. They didn't wait for opportunity. They created it.

That spirit built this country. Over time, it faded. Convenience replaced capability. Store shelves replaced skill. Self-reliance became a last resort instead of a way of life.

Then the world changed.

A global pandemic, rising costs, and fragile supply chains exposed just how dependent we had become. For the first time in generations, people began asking a simple question: What happens if it's not there when we need it?

For some, that question was new. For us, it never was. We were raised this way — growing our own food, hunting our own meat, preserving for winter, and building what we needed with our own hands. Not because it was trendy. Because it works.

Homesteading isn't a hobby. It's not a phase. It's early mornings, hard work, and doing things the right way — even when it's the harder way.

At The Mellon Patch, we're not just surviving — we're living with purpose, pride, and independence.

¶ 02 — A Year-Round Operation

Everything we eat, raised by our own hands.

200+

Broiler Chickens

Raised every summer for the freezer.

12

Pigs Annually

Pasture-raised and processed on-farm.

1

Jersey Milk Cow

Fresh milk, cream, and butter daily.

Garden Rows

Feeding the family through every season.

We raise, incubate, and hatch our own laying flock. Pheasants, ducks, turkeys, and beehives round out the yard.

All livestock is processed right here on the farm — start to finish, by us. It's about responsibility and respect.

We make our own everyday products too — natural soaps, broths, preserves. Self-sufficiency doesn't stop at the table.

¶ 04 — Where to Watch
